La Bulle - Our new Venture!

Hello gorgeous people!

Just wanted to share a little update with you all. As most of your know we opened a gorgeous new leather handbag boutique 'La Bulle' at Christmas which has been going from strength to strength! With such lovely feedback we are so pleased that you all love our new venture as much as we do! I thought i would just share a few snippets from the new store for those who haven't yet had chance to pop in and say hello! We are situated just inside the arcade on Broadway high street. We now have beautiful new signs up so you certainly can't miss us! The store manager is the fabulous Kirsty, who can be found keeping the shop in tip top order and greeting customers with an infectious smile :) You may also find myself or Tony in there covering Kirsty's days off! We stock a gorgeous range of all leather handbags, mainly Italian at very reasonable prices. We have little leather purses starting at just £4.95 and handbags ranging anywhere from £29.95 upwards. We think you will be pleasantly surprised at the prices! We have lots of exciting new goodies on there way as well so keep your eyes peeled it is not to be missed! We also have the wonderful Linda Macdonald, handmade jewellery in stock as well as beautiful sterling silver and fresh water pearl jewellery from the delightful Albany Square. With a scattering of fashion accessories...leather gloves...palace clothing....and gorgeous scarves to name a few it is worth a little browse.

Happy Pancake Day!

Good Afternoon fabulous people,

Just thought it would be fun to share a few pancake recipes to get you in the mood for a pancake feast this evening! A friend and i conjured up the three course pancake dinner, when our love for pancakes went a little crazy and only having a few after dinner just didn't quite fulfil us! The tip is to make a big batch of batter (see recipes below to fit your requirements!) and split it into two bowls, I like to add a pinch of cracked black pepper and sea salt into one batch to make them savoury and leave the other mixture plain ready for all those delicious desert toppings! Top tip, prep all of your toppings first to prevent over cooking the pancakes whilst panicking where an ingredient is and also therefore no delay in eating these tasty morsels....a cold pancake is not fun for anyone!

For 'Starter' pancakes we like to opt for the bacon and cream cheese filling. Add a sprinkling of rocket before rolling and you will be in heaven! Next up is the main course, a favourite of ours is to cook one side of the pancake then as soon as you have turned it over sprinkle with a mature cheddar and finely chopped red or white onion depending on your preference! Also spinach and ricotta makes for a nice vegetarian alternative. For you meat eaters out there...cook off some chicken in a sprinkling of paprika, a few red peppers and a scattering of chorizo and you have yourself a taste of Mexico in a pancake too!

Now for the desert pancakes...where you can really go wild with toppings! Firstly clean the pan, or have another one handy, realising that you can taste the bacon from the previous pancakes on your sweet pancakes is not tasty! You will only make that mistake once hehe! Same principle as the main course, cook once side first and throw on your toppings whilst the second side is cooking! Mixed berries drizzled with honey is a nice combination.  We also love mixing dark chocolate chips into the batter or spreading melted white chocolate over one side and scattering with raspberries. Alternatively add some cinnamon into the batter before cooking and top with baked apple. Yummy!  You can't really fail with a sprinkling of sugar and a squeeze of fresh lemon though let's be honest!

Standard pancake mix:

100g flour

2 eggs

300ml milk

remember .... melt a little butter to coat the pan before cooking the pancakes! Don't get it too hot as the butter will burn!

Gluten Free:

Being wheat intolerant myself i would highly  recommend using Doves Farm Foods organic gluten free flour (you can get this from most good Tesco's, Sainsbury's even the co-op!) I found adding a splash more milk to make the batter a little more liquid helps to avoid the dry consistency you can get from gluten free baking! 

For those still on a health kick..here is @cleanandlean healthy oak pancake recipe:

Feeds 2 - 4 People-

100g organic oats

200g organic fat-free cottage cheese

4 organic eggs

1 tsp of cinnamon

Blend all ingredients in a food processor and then pour a ladle full into a heated pan. Cook for 2 -3 minutes on each side. Add blueberries for an anti- oxidising sweetness or a squeeze of raw honey!

I hope this has inspired some pancake fun this evening!

Monday Must Have #7

Happy Monday!! 

We hope you all had a super fabulous weekend :) I am still eager to see all this snow we are supposed to be having! Feels like we really have missed out on the winter wonderland this year! I now you aren't all probably as keen as i am for snow but there is always something quite magical when it snows!

#20 Outfit of the week...

Good Morning Gorgeous People,

So how has your week been? I can't believe it is the end of February already! Alsooo.....today is #20 outfit of the week ,can't believe that 20 weeks ago i started this little fashion feature! How time flies! 

So here it is , this week's outfit of the week. This week is inspired by all the amazing street wear from London Fashion Week. Wearing a mash up of high street and high end it is all about making an outfit work for you. SO take some inspiration from these great styles and wear it your own way. I am showcasing a few of my favourite street style looks from LFW and have pulled together an outfit with little snippets from all of these...enjoy! 

I have chosen a fabulous checked skirt in a more subtle dark green colour way in a nod to this interesting trend. Try a midi length skirt to freshen up your style, allowing you to bare a little leg but without being too on  show. Team it with this cute crop top for a great ensemble. It may not be the most universal look for all body shapes but as i said you need to wear it your way! Maybe pair a loose plaid shirt over your favourite skinnies if baring your tummy is too daunting! Or why not get a tartan mini and wear it with an oversized jumper for a casual day time look. It's about incorporating your favourite trends into your own style in a way that makes you still feel comfortable. I have chosen some great textured contrast pointed shoes. The patent and matte combination in fabrics adds a touch of luxe, but again these shoes are great for dressing up or dressing down with lots of different outfits. I have included this week's Monday must have as a sweet little accessories touch - the silver plated beaded ring is finished beautifully with a mother of pearl heart. So adorable!Finally the coat, a must have with the weather we have been having and a great way to finish off your style. Be bold , throw caution to the wind (and rain!) and go bright, or go classic to allow you to wear it with everything in your wardrobe. If you play it safe with all your wardrobe items maybe it is time to embrace the bubblegum pinks, or even a vibrant orange if your feeling brave to add a splash of colour. Or team your already vibrant outfits with a classic camel or grey oversized coat to add a touch of sophistication.

How was everyone's weekend? We had a good steady end to the week across all stores and the weather has also been behaving itself considering! #19 Outfit Of The Week

Good Morning Lovelies!

We have had a very progressive week this week and hope you have too. There is a great satisfaction in being productive i think! It's a rare occasion as i am sure you all feel the same. That 'to do' list getting longer not shorter right?! 

We are in the mood to be looking forward to lighter, brighter days and for spring to be upon us so the theme of this week's look is influenced by this. I have gone for something still rather layered as although the sun has been showing it's face a little there is no chance of it getting warm any time soon! We love this classic trench which is a must have and a brilliant way to transition through seasons. The light beige is a nod to spring and the cute ensemble underneath i have put together to provide a few options no matter what the weather throws at us! The shirt and jumper combination is a great way to look a little more 'put together' without being too tailored. Tuck the shirt in or leave loose depending on what style suits you best. I love this skirt as it is a nice alternative to the usual 'tube' skirts that have been so popular but still very wearable. The neutral tones will suit  almost anyone and quite a classic daytime look that i think looks smart yet comfortable. The bag is a great steal at just £29.95 and is all leather! Navy can be viewed as a little dated in handbags but in small accessories such as this i think it works really well and is a nifty little size for the essentials. The Loafers are great run around shoes to prevent aching feet at work but still keep you looking smart.

#18 Outfit of the week...

Good morning fabulous people!

Thank goodness it is Friday! Another week that has flown by, we hope you have all had a good one. We have had a very busy time with the run up to Valentines...sorting out all the cute goodies that people are sending to their loved ones. Some of you will be having our parcels landing on your doorsteps today and we hope you love whatever has been sent to you, earning your other a few brownie points i am sure!

So enough with the 'lovey dovey' stuff and onto to our favourite Friday feature...Outfit of the week! This week follows on from the theme of last week, smartening up your act. The weather may not be improving that much and that favourite baggy jumper and jeans can't last forever so let's get back into putting a bit more effort into our work wear that can double up as an outfit for an evening out with ease. After all we all want to look like we made an effort but are not prepared to sacrifice that extra half an hour in bed in the mornings to achieve it !

I have chosen a gorgeous dress for this weeks outfit which can be worn in the office for a smart look or as i have done dressed up with your favourite heels to achieve an after work drinks outfit...or maybe even that valentines dinner date ! The dress is a spot jacquard dress from warehouse. A pattern or print is a great way to liven up a dull work wardrobe but still creates that polished look. Versatile for a variety of smarter wear occasions but the cut of the dress is super flattering and not too figure hugging for those days when you don't feel great! I have teamed this dress with a must have pair of high heeled sandals from zara , the criss cross design will bring your wardrobe up to date but again these are great worn with your favourite skinny jeans for a daytime look or paired with any of your great dresses for nights out. #17 Outfit of the week...

Happy Friday Lovelies!

What a windy week we have had! We have had a great week involving lots of new stock coming from our spring fair discoveries! Not only discovering new goodies but finding out what our fabulous suppliers have  install for us next! I can tell you that i am very excited and we are sure it won't disappoint. Although some of it is so exclusive we can't have the products till after summer! It will be worth the wait though.

Now onto this week's Outfit of choice. I have gone with a 'Get Tailored' theme this week. I love a comfy outfit as much as the next but there is something about getting a smart look together which makes you feel like you mean business. Plus, as i always stress, it is key to get items that work together or as separates maximising your outfit options and switching up you look without the need to purchase something new every week! ( Not that this will ever stop up..hey girls!) Tailored can suit everyone it is just making sure you get the fit spot on..after all that is the essence of tailoring! So don't be disheartened because the gorgeous cropped jacket your best friend just brought doesn't look as good on you. You have the find the proportions to work with your body shape, take a little time to try different lengths, cut, prints etc. It will be worth it in the end when you have these staples items to dress up any outfit in the future and that fit you just right. I have gone for a printed trouser as i think it just lifts a dull work outfit and makes it flexible for evening occasions too. The Shirt style top is a great style steal too as you can pair it with other tailored items for an office ready look or dress it down with your favourite skinnies and flats for the day.  I have included a gorgeous mock croc bag from our leather range which will be soon expanding to encompass a whole host of gorgeous bags in a wider range of styles. I have also added two gorgeous Linda Macdonald rings to either stack up or wear separately. The mix of gold and silver continues to be a big trend and i think the oxidised and polished finishes just add's a little uniqueness and interest. Plus we just love this range! I like adding accessories with different textures and finishes and think this is a great way to make an outfit pop and if you tend to play it safe with your clothing, try making a statement with your accessories to make it a little more interesting! #16 Outfit of the week...

Happy Fashion Friday Gorgeous People!

Is it really the 31st already?! I can't believe how quick January has gone. Let's hope February brings some nice bright weather with it ! We are still donning our winter woollies , yet the high-street is filling up with summer/ beach wear? Maybe they are preparing for everyone to vacate to warmer climates....and who can blame them!? It is trade show time once again and we will dashing up to Birmingham this weekend to see what is on offer, hopefully to come back with lots of inspiring new products for you lovely customers to get there teeth into! Of course it is Fashion Friday so let's see what I have install for you this week....

This week's outfit is inspired by all the gorgeous co-ordinated sets that I have finally learnt to love! They have been a hot trend in 2013 and available in many high-street stores for quite some time now. I wasn't too sure of the 'matchy matchy' style at first but after seeing it styled in a few different ways i now love it! You just need to be a little brave and find what works for you. Bouclé has been a big trend related to co-ord's but i have decided to provide you with a more versatile pairing that allows you to wear them as separates in lots of different ways! This plain navy duo is fabulous, it's slick but with a more relaxed casual edge for those who don't want to feel completely tailored. Again you can style it however you like but i was feeling a Royal colour palette this week so this is what i came up with......Add oxidised jewellery rather than shiny for a more vintage and less polished look. A statement necklace with an outfit that contains no pattern really finishes it off nicely and can change a look instantly. I have chosen a gorgeous classic red bag from our new leather handbag range available here! Red leather has been a real hit and a great way of adding colour into an outfit!

Monday Must Have #2

Hello gorgeous people,

Monday comes round far too quickly doesn't it.....***sighs*** oh well it's time for our next instalment of  'Monday Must Have' which hopefully dusts off the Monday blues a little at least! A terribly rainy Broadway over the weekend but nice to see lots of people donning their waterproofs to make the most of it! La Bulle has been buzzing with lots of positive feedback from lots of happy customers which is what it's all about for us! We had a stock up of some of the best sellers in store so the new boutique is looking tip top! We had a shuffle around in the heart store also with a great big delivery of Jo Downs glassware which has taken pride of place at the front of the store! So that's the shops having a full stock up and looking fabulous for what will hopefully be another busy month ahead and the websites aren't missing out either. With a few changes on the horizon we have some exciting new bits and bobs on their way, so keep an eye out.

 It's all about valentines for now with lots of you buying adorable gifts for the one you love. *Boy's don't forget...you haven't got long!!* I will be posting lots of goodies on twitter and facebook so be sure to tag your other halves in anything you love to drop them a great big hint... we have noticed subtle hints don't seem to work..teehee! We will do our best to make sure they don't forget this valentines!

Anyway enough about the lovey dovey stuff and onto the good bit ...

It is back to work as usual but we hope you have all had a lovely festive Christmas filled with lots of goodies and of course too much food! Wishing you all a very happy new year !

After much anticipation thanks to a few major computer malfunctions (not such a happy start to the new year!)....it is of course Fashion Friday....the first of 2014...woohoo! I have decided on a cute style to see in the new year, something comfortable yet stylish. I have styled it in a way that is probably most suited to someone in their 20's to early 30's but you can of course pick pieces to re-dress in your own way....because isn't that really what style is all about?!? 

We have lots of exciting new goodies coming your way this year and will also be introducing gift vouchers on the website , because sometimes people are just too difficult to shop for! Plus we all know it is actually quite nice sometimes to choose exactly what we want ourselves. We will have a fabulous new feature every week which will be our 'Monday must have' i will be picking an item every week which we think is gorgeous and for 24 hours only it will be at a special reduced price for those in the know!
